Renters Warehouse who was originally started in Minnesota by Brenton Hayden back in 2007 has been sold to an investment group called, Northern Pacific Group. The terms of this transaction were not disclosed. This purchase will bring them the ability to grow to their target of 100,000 homes in 3 years (they are at 10,000 homes now).
They are already the largest company in the US and at that size, that would make it hard for most to beat them! The managing partner at Northern Pacific Group is Scott Honour, who also is a co-founder of YapStone, an online rental property payment service provider. Seems like there is some synergy there between the two companies.
Today, Renters Warehouse has 27 franchised offices with plans for many more, mostly in smaller markets.
